Other activites include visiting speakers, performers and entertainers.
We have regular visits from from actor-performer Clive Pig, The Quantum Science Theatre and
from the Animal Lecture Service
Trips
Class educational visits are organised through the year and, where necessary,
parents may be asked to make a voluntary donation towards the cost of these. We
always aim to keep the amount of this contribution as low as possible, although
the rising costs of coach hire and entrance fees make this quite a task! Recent
visits have been to Bristol Zoo, Caerleon, Rural Life Museum, Fyne Court and various field trips, such as to
King's Wood and to the source of the River Brue.
It has been the practice in recent years to offer a week's educational visit
to a Youth Hostel or Outdoor Activity Centre for the children in Year 6. It is
hoped that all pupils will take part in this activity and each visit involves
intensive environmental study including preparatory and follow-up work in
school. This year the children will be going to Okehampton for an activity week.
